Dwight Nelson

Founding Partner

Dwight is Founding Partner at Basso Family Office. He leads the firm by applying his extensive risk management expertise and steadfast analytical process to his central role in evaluating investment opportunities. Dwight also heads the investment committee, trades public securities, and measures results to improve outcomes.

Before starting Basso Family Office, Dwight spent more than 20 years as founding partner at Basso Capital Management LLP. He is also a partner at St Katherine Equity Partners, LLC. Previously, Dwight held positions at Grace Brothers Ltd. and at Republic Securities. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in economics with honors at the University of Chicago.

Dwight was captain and goalie on his college soccer team, and describes his squad back then as “small but deceptively slow.” Last year however, the University of Chicago Men’s soccer team won the national championship—a very nice comeback. When he watches games, Dwight loves to eat peanuts—outer shells and all!

Jenner Stagg

Partner, Chief Risk Officer

Jenner is a Partner and Chief Risk Officer at Basso Family Office. He designed the firm’s trading, risk, valuation, and operational infrastructure. He also developed and maintains a capital allocation framework aimed at optimizing risk adjusted returns. Jenner’s extensive portfolio management skills include trading listed and bespoke assets globally—including developed, emerging, and frontier markets.

Before joining Basso Family Office in 2023, Jenner spent nearly 15 years at Basso Capital Management LLP. Previously, he held positions at AIG Trading Group Inc. and J.P. Morgan Investment Banking. Jenner received a Bachelor of Science degree in finance at Fairfield University. He also earned Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) and Financial Risk Manager (FRM®) designations.

Jenner is dedicated to being a great father to his three children—and a pet parent to an abundance of rescues! He’s equally passionate about being a supportive husband. Jenner is a former Division 1 ice hockey player and also loves to golf.

Matthew Zimmerman

Partner

Matt is a Partner at Basso Family Office. He oversees investment research and trading, macroeconomic research, and all communication with Basso client families and the other professionals that assist them. Matt has helped create a culture of handling client requests in a manner that instills confidence and conveys the firm’s expertise.

Before joining Basso Family Office in 2023, Matt spent more than 12 years at Basso Capital Management LLP. Previously, he was a portfolio manager and researcher at Panton Capital Group and at Epsilon Investment Management. Matthew earned a BS in accounting from Tulane University and an MBA in finance from NYU Stern School of Business. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) designation, and is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA)..

Matt serves on the board of directors for a local nonprofit that strives to eliminate homelessness and hunger. In his free time, he loves to be outdoors. Matthew enjoys hiking, camping, whitewater rafting, and skiing. Being happy is his true passion!

Stephen Bowley

Chief Financial Officer

Stephen is Chief Financial Officer at Basso Family Office. He directs all aspects of accounting and human resources for the firm. This includes ensuring that clients can view their entire alternative investment universe in one place. Stephen also developed timely procedures to track and execute capital calls for alternative investments.

Before joining Basso Family Office in 2023, Stephen spent nearly 18 years at Basso Capital Management LLP. Before that, he was at DKR Capital Partners LP. Stephen earned a Bachelor of Science in mathematics and actuarial science at the University of Connecticut. He is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

Stephen is married with three boys, and he’s passionate about faith, family, and fitness – although not always in that order. He’s been doing CrossFit for nearly 12 years and calls himself a biohacker, exploring new ways to optimize his health and performance. He admits to trying cold plunges, hot saunas, red-light therapy, meditations, and breath work so far!

Marc Seidenberg

General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer

Marc Seidenberg is General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer at Basso Family Office. He oversees all legal and compliance matters, providing prudent counsel in balance with the goal of continued business growth. Marc’s calm judgment is a significant asset to the firm.

Before joining Basso Family Office in 2023, Marc spent more than 20 years at Basso Capital Management LLP. Prior to that, he served as Assistant Regional Counsel at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Earlier in his career, he was a Federal District Court law clerk. Marc holds a Bachelor of Arts in government at Hamilton College in Clinton, NY. He also earned a Juris Doctorate at Brooklyn Law School.

Marc loves spending time with family and friends. Sailing and enjoying music are two of his other favorite pastimes. Marc is also learning to speak Italian!

Brent Wofsey

Operations

Brent is Chief Operating Officer at Basso Family Office. He is in charge of improving and streamlining the processing of daily trades and settlements, which also helps minimize costs. Brent’s extensive experience over a wide range of operational skills has helped him develop an exceptional attention to the details that make systems exceptional.

Before joining Basso Family Office in 2023, Brent spent nearly 18 years at Basso Capital Management LLP. Prior to that, he was an assistant vice president at Sagamore Hill Capital Management L.P. and an operations associate at DKR Capital Inc. He earned a Bachelor of Science in business management at Cornell University.

Brent’s greatest pleasure is spending time with his family. He also loves playing team sports and staying physically fit. As a volunteer youth basketball coach, he gets to enjoy both his favorite pastimes. One of Brent’s hidden talents is being conversationally fluent in Spanish!

Vigen Pogosyan

Chief Technology Officer

Vigen is Chief Technology Officer at Basso Family Office. He architected and led implementation of the firm’s infrastructure, providing the platform for successfully conducting Basso business. He also oversees all activity related to network, servers/workstations, hardware, telephony, and IT infrastructure to ensure reliability and uninterrupted accessibility.

Before joining Basso Family Office in 2023, Vigen spent nearly 20 years at Basso Capital Management LLP. Previously, he was a vice president of technology at AIG Trading and a system analyst at Reuters Analytic Group. Vigen attended Yerevan State University and the University of Virginia. He holds a Master of Science in physics.

When Vigen is not obsessing over smart home system development, he’s likely to be jamming on piano or drums.
